Ahmadinejad talks around the bush with Spiegel

The link to the interview I caught courtesy of Drudge.

I must admit, Ahmadinejad is likely a student of the West and PR. He spent the entire interview accentuating an argument with false choices. By doing so, if someone does not reject his argument on it's face, that person is left convinced that Israel has no right to exist.

Which of Ahmadinejad's statements lead me to that conclusion?

SPIEGEL: Well, we are conducting this historical debate with you for a very timely purpose. Are you questioning Israel's right to exist?

Ahmadinejad: Look here, my views are quite clear. We are saying that if the Holocaust occurred, then Europe must draw the consequences and that it is not Palestine that should pay the price for it. If it did not occur, then the Jews have to go back to where they came from. I believe that the German people today are also prisoners of the Holocaust. Sixty million people died in the Second World War. World War II was a gigantic crime. We condemn it all. We are against bloodshed, regardless of whether a crime was committed against a Muslim or against a Christian or a Jew. But the question is: Why among these 60 million victims are only the Jews the center of attention? [emphasis mine]

Are you questioning Israel's right to exist? No, what I'm saying is if the Holocaust happened Israel should be in Europe, 'cause they did it. If it didn't happen, then this is all a Zionist plot and they should go back where they came from.

Whatever his conclusion sounds like, it comes down to answering the question affirmatively; Israel, according to Ahmadinejad, has no right to exist.

Iran sponsors terrorists. Iran seeks Nukes. Even if Iran doesn't seek Nukes, the fact that Iran will not respect borders hammered out in previous conflict lessens the amount of trust Iran is due.

I found the interview enlightening, you should read the whole thing. (especially the part where he finds all deaths from WWII to be equal)

I do think, though, that he (they) are trying to get our dander up about these statements so that we can force ourselves to accept his greater argument. To my American ears, it sounds like he is spoiling for a fight.
